UK CHRISTMAS DELIVERY
I am away from Monday 17th Dec until late Friday Dec 21st. Any orders received today, Sunday Dec 16th, will be dispatched tomorrow morning before I leave but any orders after today will not be dispatched until Saturday 22nd December. This means that the last posting date for UK Christmas delivery, by standard mail, will have passed. If you want Christmas delivery, and your order is below £60, then you will need to add the Postal Insurance to your order (£5) so that I can mail it by Special Delivery on the Saturday. This will ensure that you get your parcel on Christmas Eve. As a Christmas offer any order over £60 will be sent automatically by Special Delivery. I will have very limited internet access whilst I am away so enquiries will only be answered on my return.

I will be having my final buying trip of 2011 next week. It is a big one as everyone seems to be having their final auctions of the year so I will be away most of the week. I leave early Monday morning (Dec 12th) and will be back late Friday (Dec 16th). Any orders taken this weekend will be dispatched on Monday but any received after Sunday evening (Dec 11th) will not be dispatched until the following Monday (Dec 19th). The final posting dates for Christmas delivery have already passed for all overseas customers except Western Europe. Your final posting date is this Monday so please get your orders in this weekend to ensure I can send your parcels on Monday. All of my UK customers will still have a full week of posting available when I am back and I hope to have lots of wonderful treasures to add to the site. The next two weeks will be fairly quiet on the website as I am getting ready to move house. I am away most of the first week attending auctions and fairs and the minute I am back I pick up the keys to my new house. I am hoping, if all goes to plan, to be settled in my new house by the weekend of the 8th & 9th of October. I will have lots of new stock to add to the website by then and hopefully everything will be up and running as normal. Please be aware that parcel dispatch will be delayed. All orders received so far will be dispatched on Monday 26th Sept but any received after lunchtime (UK time) on Sunday 25th will not go until Thursday 29th. Any orders received for the following week I will email you individually and let you know your dispatch date. I will try and keep you all informed as normal but I will be without my broadband for a few days during the move. Normal service will resume as soon as possible.

I mentioned in the newsletter this week that I had lots of enamel shield charms in stock but very little time to list them on the website. Thank you to everyone who has sent me their want lists. I am pleased I have found some new homes for quite a few already. Some of you wanted so see a full list of what I had available and I am pleased to say that I have now completed it. Anyone wanting a copy please just drop me a line and I will email it through. It is an extensive list of some 550 place names and I will try to keep it as up to date as possible. Some shields I have many variations of but I have only listed them once. There aren't prices on it at the moment but all shields will be priced somewhere between £3 and £15 each. Just let me know which ones you are interested in and I will happily send you pictures and prices.

Apologies that there hasn't been much new stuff added to the website recently but there has been such a good run on antiques fairs and auctions that I have been taking the opportunity to buy new stock. It has paid off because I have some amazing items to add to the website. I spoke too soon about the post getting back to normal. Parcels to the USA are still facing major delays. I would normally expect delivery within 7-10 days but they are currently taking around 3 weeks and that includes the expedited services as well. I believe it is still the new security measures at the airports that are causing the delays and I hope that Royal Mail get a system in place soon to combat the problems. In the meantime please leave sufficient time for delivery especially if you are buying for a present. If I get any updates on the situation I will keep you posted.

This is a note for anyone with a Verizon.net email address. None of my emails have been getting through to you for quite some time. They are returned a few days later with the message 'Mail server for verizon.net unreachable for too long'. There are lots of articles on the internet about Verizon email problems but most of them seem to be older than this problem. If anyone can help I would very much appreciate it.

Happy New Year everyone!!
I am pleased to say that the situation with the post here in the UK has improved immensely over the last week. I have had so many emails saying parcels have arrived it has been wonderful. Thank you to you all for your patience and understanding. It has been a very frustrating time but we are getting there, eventually. There are still some delays on US parcels sent just after the last posting dates for Christmas, dispatched from the 13th December, which I am hoping will be arriving any day now. Anyone still concerned please drop me a line.
Lots of new items have been added to the website with more to come over the weekend. I am off buying at the beginning of next week but it shouldn't effect order dispatch at all.

Below is the latest bulletin from Royal Mail regarding parcels to the USA & Canada which are currently severely delayed and have been since the middle of November.
Increased security measures delays some mail to USA
In November, the United States Department of Homeland Security increased security measures for items carried on passenger airlines. As a result, mail entering the US from around the world, and including the UK, that would normally be sent via passenger aircraft must now travel by other means, including cargo planes.
The vast majority of items, including letters and Christmas cards, posted prior to the last recommended posting date of 10th December have been and will continue to arrive in the US in time for Christmas. However, these ongoing security issues, combined with the impact of recent severe weather on the movement of mail throughout the UK, are causing delays to some items bound for the US. We’re really sorry for these unavoidable delays and are doing everything we can to keep mail moving out of and into the UK.
Since the middle of November and throughout the recent period of weather related service disruption in parts of the UK, we have implemented a number of contingency plans to ensure as much of our customers’ mail reaches the US as quickly as possible. In finding alternative, available routes and transportation to the US, it’s possible that the delivery pattern of some items may have been interrupted and not all mail will arrive in the sequence in which it was posted. Handling significantly increased volumes of mail at this festive time along with the complexity of reacting at pace to contingency arrangements, means we’re unable to track individual items for customers or identify exactly when in the current arrival patterns deliveries are likely to take place.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are continuing to work to minimise disruption to our customers, whilst ensuring we comply fully with the US directives and regulations.
I have an ongoing list of customers who are affected by these delays and if you have not received your parcel and have not been in contact yet please drop me a line and I will add you to the list. If you have been in contact and do receive your parcel please let me know as it will be wonderful news for everybody else to know that parcels are indeed moving.

I was snowed in for four days!! I couldn't get the car out of the drive. I am still not receiving postal deliveries, it has been nearly a week now, and any parcels that I have dispatched are going to be severely delayed as there are problems at local sorting offices. I missed a couple of good antiques fairs last week so I am making up for it by heading off for a couple of days buying. I will take the weekend orders with me and post them tomorrow in a part of the country that hasn't been hit by the snow. Hopefully you will receive your parcels much quicker than those sent last week. The snow is thawing and roads are clearing so I am hoping the country will start moving again soon. Any orders received from now will be dispatched on Thursday 9th December.
I am having many emails from American customers because parcels have not arrived. Most seem to have been posted towards the middle and end of November. I couldn't understand what the delay was so contacted Royal Mail. Apparently it is due to the recent incident of a bomb on board a plane. The US have implemented much stricter screening on all parcels coming into the US and this is delaying things. Parcels are also no longer allowed on passenger planes and must now only fly on cargo planes. I was told this may delay things for up to a week. Add on the airport closures due to snow and you have a complete nightmare. I will try to help as much as I can but I think in this instance it will be a case of being patient.

SEVERE WEATHER
Here in the UK we have been hit with very early snow. I am in a tiny village a few miles from the nearest main road and the local roads are untreated. I am struggling to get out to the post office at the moment as the roads are treacherous and the snow is getting worse. Please bear with me. I have been away a lot recently buying but with at least a full week in the office coming up there will be lots of charms listed on the site. Quite a few already added today with a good selection from Victorian through to the 1960s and 70s. A newsletter should go out tomorrow followed by more new lots being added to the site. I am hoping to have some upgrades for the site soon including customer accounts (you will be able to sign in and see purchase history, order status etc) and Google Checkout. URGENT
Please be aware that for the last four days (since Sunday March 7th) my website has not been forwarding emails to me. Any 'online enquiry forms' or 'join subscription forms' have not been received. The problem has now been fixed so if you have completed either of these in the last few days please can you fill them in again and resend them. I will get back to you to let you know that they have been successfully received this time.
Orders were not affected by this problem though they have been delayed because I was away on a buying trip. All outstanding orders have been completed today. Lots of new goodies have been picked up so keep an eye on the site over the next few days as new lots will be added very soon.

A fabulous time was had around the fairs and many gorgeous treasures have been found. Some have been added to the site already with many others due to be added over the next week.
It is of course VALENTINE'S DAY soon and I thought I would share a quote that I read recently. 'Charms are symbols of unforgettable moments, they remind us of our dreams and who we are.' I thought it was very true. My own bracelet is full of individual stories and moments collected over the years with each charm reminding me of either the time, person or place that it came from. Whilst the charms I have bought myself are special to me it is the charms that have been given as presents that are so very precious. So, this Valentine's Day, if you are wanting to give a present that is a little different and something that will be treasured for many years to come, may I suggest a charm!

Hi Everyone,
I have just added lots of empty bracelets to the site. I hadn't managed to get caught up with those following the rush over Christmas but there is a nice selection available at the moment. The next two weeks are going to be a little mad as I have some of my favourite fairs and markets coming up including Kempton this week and then Lincoln and Newark the following week so I will be out and about quite a bit but it does mean that, hopefully, fantastic new treasures will be added soon. Please bear with me if parcels take a day longer than normal to dispatch though I will keep you informed of your individual orders.

'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow'......well actually I would rather it didn't. It is playing havoc with business. It makes it difficult to get to the post office and even more difficult to get out to the markets and fairs to look for treasures for you all. Hence the rather slow start back after the Christmas holidays. I do have stock left over from before the break to get listed so there will be new items coming up over the next week or so but not the amount I was hoping for. Some lots are already listed so be sure to check those out. In the meantime, everyone, please take extra care out there!!

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick message to thank you all for your support over the last year. It has been an amazing year. I look forward to finding more charming treasures for you all in the New Year. No new items will be added now until after Christmas, and possibly not until after the New Year, as I desperately need time to catch up with friends and family who have been seriously neglected this year due to how busy I have been with the website. Obviously orders are welcome but dispatch may take a few days longer than normal over the holiday period. I shall send a quick newsletter when things are back up and running and pop an update on Facebook as well so you won't miss the new items.
